a moment of brilliance
Stayed at our newly-favorite cheap motel this weekend, and the room they put us in had a sink whose drain was not fully connected to the plumbing underneath - their fix for this was to have a small garbage can underneath to catch the water that didn't make it. By the time we noticed, we were already too settled in and tired (read: drunk) to request a room switch. Partway through our game of trivial pursuit, my multi-substance-addled brain decided it would be a good idea to empty the garbage can. I'm so helpful! So helpful, in fact, that I picked up the garbage can and emptied it - into the sink.

It's seriously all about Minden, though admittedly then you're in nevada, which might be a little more hostile should the multi-substance abuse situation be discovered.

the place in question above is the Westerner Motel in Gville. 4 people was, with tax, $57 for the night, and that's two queens, a fridge and a microwave. The Nevada laws on MSA almost as lax as those of California, although six times the hit on the wallet.

If you have 4 or 5 people at the place we go in Minden, they have a couple of suites that have 3 beds split up in two rooms, and a little kitchenette, for about $60 with tax, depending on the mood of the crazy guy when he checks you in. There's another place that has the two room suite situation in the $60 range... The first place is something like the sierra motel, and I can't remember the name of the other one... So you should be able to do better at a very similar price. =)

hmm, that's pretty nice. the one upside of the westerner is that it is across the street (mmm, walking distance) from a raley's open to 11 and a pretty damn good all-you-can-eat chinese place. but I think we may be trying out the sierra next time . . .
